Was goin on?

You are probably wondering, was goin on? Well, I’ll tell you. Or perhaps I won’t. Suffice it to say that if you are about to cut something big and expensive ALWAYS have a cup of tea (or any other drink that suits), and stand there looking at what you are about to do first. Just contemplate the cut, particularly whether you have got it marked up in the right place… Take a good break, have a chat, it is all part of getting this important job done, and done right. There is no place for rushing these kinds of cuts. This should also prevent the breaking of one or more toes when kicking the shit out of the oven because the hob hole is now in the wrong place in your friend’s kitchen (yea, sorry Ali).

Being a good DIYer is about being willing to have a go. And it is about owning some great power tools. Big noisy tools. Also it is about cutting things as quickly and efficiently as possible. The golden rule is if it can be done with a power tool, it must be done with a power tool. If said power tool is not already in my collection then it must be purchased for wifely commissioned work to be completed. That. Is. The. Law.
